Taking Education And Creating History
TEACH operates inside Washington State correctional facilities — bringing world-class education, life skills, and human dignity to those society too often leaves behind.
Our mission is to confront the educational disparities that disproportionately impact marginalized individuals inside Washington State correctional facilities. We create lasting change through rigorous education, leadership development, and peer-led initiatives, giving participants the knowledge, skills, and confidence to reclaim their story and transform their communities.
Our vision is to empower and transform individuals through education, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary for successful re-entry into society. We believe in a world where incarceration marks the beginning of transformation, not the end of opportunity, where every individual, regardless of their past, has equal access to education and the resources to build a future they are proud of.
We believe education reduces recidivism, rebuilds families, and strengthens communities. Every program we deliver is built on dignity, accountability, and the unshakeable belief that people can and do change.
From foundational literacy to career readiness, every TEACH program is designed to meet participants where they are — and carry them somewhere they've never been.
Foundational literacy, mathematics, and writing instruction that equips participants for GED attainment and beyond.

Become a PartnerI founded TEACH because I've seen what happens when you strip education from a community — and I've seen what happens when you give it back. These men and women don't need saving. They need access. Give them that, and watch what they build.

"Before TEACH, I had given up on myself. I thought my past was all I was. Now I have my GED, a plan, and for the first time in years — I have hope. TEACH didn't just teach me to read better. They taught me to see myself differently."
"I came in as a facilitator thinking I was giving something. But these men give back tenfold — their resilience, their hunger for knowledge, their humor under pressure. TEACH changed the way I think about education, justice, and what people are capable of."
With growing demand and strong community support, TEACH has officially launched programming at two additional DOC facilities — bringing our total reach to six.
